Summary
WeighToGoal is a fitness and nutrition tracker. Your logs stay on your device. The only things our servers hold are your account email, how many times you used the AI features each day, and your subscription status. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Data stored on your device only
The following is saved in the app's local storage on your phone and is never uploaded to us:
Weight entries, goals, height and calorie targets
Food diary entries and daily nutrition totals
Workouts, exercises, sets, reps and weights
Progress photos, which are kept in the app's private storage
App preferences such as units and reminder time
Because this data lives only on your device, it is not synced between devices and it is deleted when you use "Reset all data" in Settings or uninstall the app. Make your own backups if you need them.
Account data
Creating an account is required only for the AI features. We use Supabase for authentication, which stores your email address (or a private Apple relay address if you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email) and, for email accounts, an encrypted password, plus timestamps such as when the account was created and last signed in.
AI photo scanning and voice logging
When you scan a meal photo or record a voice note, that photo or audio recording is sent to OpenAI, which returns an estimate of the foods and their nutrition. This happens solely to produce your estimate. Under our agreement with OpenAI, the content is not used to train their models.
We do not store your photos or recordings on our servers. They are processed in transit and only the resulting estimate is returned to your device, where you decide whether to save it.
To improve accuracy, the food names in the estimate (text only, no images or audio) are looked up in the Open Food Facts database. The same lookup happens when you search for a food by name or scan a barcode.
Data stored on our servers
Our backend stores only the minimum needed to run the service:
Your account identifier and email address (authentication)
A per-day count of how many times you used each AI feature, used to enforce daily limits
Your subscription status and plan, so we know which limits apply to you
We do not store your weight, food, workout or photo data on our servers.
Service providers
We share data with these providers only to the extent needed to deliver the app:
OpenAI — processes meal photos and voice recordings to create estimates
Supabase — authentication and the usage/subscription database
Apple — optional Sign in with Apple on iOS; we receive an identity token and your email or Apple's private relay address
Expo / EAS Hosting — hosts the app's backend API
Open Food Facts — public food database queried for nutrition data
Google Play — distributes the app and processes subscription billing; we never see your payment details
Permissions
The camera permission is used to take meal and progress photos and to scan barcodes. The microphone permission is used only while you are recording a voice log. Notification permission is used for the optional daily reminder. You can decline or revoke any of these in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
Payments
A subscription is available as a monthly or yearly plan. Prices vary by country/region and are shown in the App Store before you subscribe, and a 7-day free trial is included for new subscribers. Billing is handled entirely by Google Play. We receive only your subscription status, never your card or payment details.
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is open. Daily usage counters are only meaningful for the day they belong to and are removed with your account.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, under Legal and account, which erases your account, usage counters and subscription record from our servers. Data stored on your device is removed with "Reset all data" or by uninstalling the app. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel that in the Play Store.
No sale of data
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Children
WeighToGoal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the account data we hold, and you can withdraw consent by deleting your account. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
